This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conducting analysis of collections, addressing non-payables, and managing inquiries related to bills for intricate issues.
• Following up on claim rejections and denials.
• Timely processing of assigned accounts receivable work lists as directed by the manager.
• Drafting appeals to resolve claim denials aiming for a single-contact resolution.
• Identifying and addressing denied, non-paid, and/or non-adjudicated claims.
• Suggesting accounts for write-off in Adjustment Requests.
• Verifying the system for any missing payments.
• Accurately documenting patient accounts.
• Reviewing correspondence to identify specific issues.
• Investigating patient accounts to determine suitable follow-up actions.
• Processing and tracking appeals.
• Addressing insurance company inquiries regarding claims.
• Communicating with insurance providers about the status of outstanding claims.
• Achieving established production and quality benchmarks.
• Undertaking special projects and other assigned responsibilities.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in data entry.
• Preferred one (1) year experience in medical billing and claims resolution.
• AAHAM and/or HFMA certification is preferred.
• Desired experience with offshore engagement and collaboration.
• Intermediate understanding of medical billing regulations, including coordination of benefits, modifiers, Medicare, and Medicaid, along with familiarity with Explanation of Benefits (EOBs).
• Proficient in using billing software within a span of 5 weeks.
