
Accounts Receivable Collections Specialist – Remote Near a WRE Branch

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +12 more states.
• Set payment terms with clients and ensure timely collections based on established guidelines.
• Adhere to organizational collection protocols and assist with billing when necessary.
• Conduct collection calls and send communications to request payment on overdue accounts.
• Provide customer support related to collection matters.
• Process customer refunds, make account adjustments, handle credit applications, and issue credit memos.
• Address client discrepancies, short payments, disputes, and outstanding balances.
• Oversee and manage assigned accounts, including customer interactions, reconciliations, and small-balance write-offs.
• Work to minimize delinquency for assigned accounts.
• Keep records of delinquent accounts, bankruptcies, and credit risks.
• Prepare and submit collections documentation for approved accounts.
• Involve sales and senior management efforts when needed to expedite collections.
• Communicate and coordinate with the sales department regarding client accounts.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with both commercial and residential customers.
• Provide weekly and monthly updates to the direct supervisor.
• Make a high volume of calls to assigned delinquent clients.
• Manage customers listed on the On Hold List.
• Interact with both internal and external customers.
• Participate in team review meetings.
• Perform additional tasks in support of the Accounts Receivable Department.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent is mandatory.
• At least 3 years of experience in high-volume corporate collections.
• Familiarity with billing and collections processes is essential.
• Knowledge or experience in Accounts Receivable is advantageous.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency with email and internet use.
• Capability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to comprehend written, verbal, or diagrammatic instructions.
• Skill in reading and interpreting company policies, procedures, safety guidelines, operating instructions, and road signs.
• Effective communication skills with customers, colleagues, and management.
• Ability to work autonomously and cope with pressure to meet deadlines.
• Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
• Highly detail-oriented.
• Ability to quickly learn operating procedures and consistently apply them to standard.
