Accounting Team Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead, manage, and provide support to the accounting team.

• Prepare, assess, and authorize journal entries, reconciliations, and accounting transactions.

• Review and confirm accounts payable transactions, accruals, and account classifications.

• Examine data that supports excise tax submissions.

• Validate monthly rent payment schedules, which include rent, CAM, and associated expenses.

• Supervise SG&A-related accounts payable and accounts receivable operations.

• Coordinate and manage month-end and year-end closing procedures.

• Prepare and evaluate account reconciliations and address any outstanding issues.

• Calculate quarterly sales commission payouts and maintain corresponding amortization schedules.

• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of the general ledger.

• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in accounting.

• Collaborate with internal business teams to address accounting concerns and offer guidance.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, GAAP, and relevant accounting standards.

• Assist senior accounting management and upper management with special projects and financial analyses.

• Train, mentor, and assess accounting associates.

• Authorize weekly timecards for direct reports.

• Engage in ad hoc projects and initiatives aimed at process improvement.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

• 5-7+ years of experience in accounting.

• Previous experience in a supervisory or team leadership role.

• In-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting principles.

• Familiarity with ERP/accounting systems such as SAP, Workday, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar; Workday is preferred.

• Experience with Blackline account reconciliation software is preferred.

• Proficient in Excel.

• Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.

• Ability to meet month-end closing deadlines while managing multiple priorities.
