This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Monitor and evaluate essential performance indicators (KPIs) associated with accounting operations, pinpoint areas needing enhancement, and execute corrective measures.
• Enhance and refine the cash application and payment reconciliation processes to boost efficiency and precision.
• Partner with the Engineering team to identify and implement automation tools or systems that improve accounting operations.
• Conduct regular training sessions for the accounting team to ensure they remain informed about accounting policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Assist in the creation and implementation of internal controls and processes to reduce financial risks and ensure adherence to regulations.
• Organize and manage various ad hoc accounting projects, ensuring they are completed on time and with accuracy.
• Collaborate with Brand Payments during the onboarding and offboarding of brands, ensuring seamless financial transitions and the resolution of outstanding payments for our partners.
• Perform periodic assessments to verify the clearance of uncleared checks, maintaining precise financial records.
• Work alongside the legal team to guarantee compliance and appropriate accounting treatment for legal matters and related processes.
• Supervise invoice generation and revenue reconciliation, ensuring accurate billing and financial reporting.
• Prepare audit letters and supporting documentation, facilitating internal and external audit processes for compliance.
• Lead and manage the accounting operations team, providing direction, training, and support to ensure the attainment of departmental goals and objectives.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Strong comprehension of accounting operations processes, including cash application, reconciliation, and vendor payments.
• In-depth knowledge of the Order-to-Cash cycle and its connection to accounting operations.
• Ability to collaborate efficiently across departments to uncover opportunities for process enhancements and operational efficiencies.
• Proficient in utilizing accounting software and platforms, including QuickBooks Online (QBO) and other pertinent tools.
• Exceptional attention to detail and high accuracy in managing financial data.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to tackle complex accounting challenges and discrepancies.
• Capable of prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders and guide the accounting team.
• Proven leadership skills and a history of motivating and developing a high-performing team.
• Familiarity with pertinent laws, regulations, and compliance requirements related to accounting operations.
• Strong financial acumen and the capability to effectively interpret financial data and reports.
