• Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) associated with accounting operations, pinpoint areas for enhancement, and execute corrective measures.
• Streamline and refine the cash application and payment reconciliation processes to boost efficiency and precision.
• Collaborate with the Engineering team to identify and adopt automation tools or systems that can elevate accounting operations.
• Conduct regular training sessions for the accounting team to ensure they remain informed about accounting policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls and processes to minimize financial risks and ensure adherence to regulations.
• Coordinate and manage various ad hoc accounting projects, ensuring they are completed on time and with accuracy.
• Work alongside Brand Payments during brand onboarding and offboarding, facilitating seamless financial transitions and the closure of outstanding payments for our partners.
• Perform regular reviews to ensure the clearance of uncleared checks, maintaining precise financial records.
• Partner with the legal team to guarantee compliance and appropriate accounting treatment for legal matters and related processes.
• Oversee invoice generation and revenue reconciliation, ensuring correct billing and financial reporting.
• Prepare audit letters and supporting documentation to facilitate internal and external audit processes for compliance purposes.
• Supervise and lead the accounting operations team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the attainment of departmental goals and objectives.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership position.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of accounting operations processes, including cash application, reconciliation, and vendor payments.
• In-depth knowledge of the Order-to-Cash cycle and its connection to accounting operations.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively across departments to uncover opportunities for process enhancements and operational efficiencies.
• Proficient in utilizing accounting software and platforms, including QuickBooks Online (QBO) and other relevant tools.
• Exceptional attention to detail and high accuracy in managing financial data.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to address complex accounting challenges and discrepancies.
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders and guide the accounting team.
• Proven leadership skills and a history of motivating and developing a high-performing team.
• Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and compliance requirements pertaining to accounting operations.
• Strong financial acumen with the ability to interpret financial data and reports effectively.
