• The **Accounting Manager, Client Advisory Services** serves as the main point of contact for clients, fostering relationships, leading meetings, and offering guidance and feedback to junior staff, while ensuring top-tier service and support for clients. This position utilizes accounting theories and principles to tackle complex business issues and enhance financial processes, guaranteeing precise financial reporting and compliance.
• **Job Duties**
• Implement accounting theories, principles, and systems design to solve intricate business problems and improve financial processes.
• Examine accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Oversee the accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
• Ensure timely invoicing, collections, accurate bill payment processing, and reconciliation activities.
• Create work plans, project timelines, and identify key milestones.
• Review journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting and adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Analyze account balances and financial statements.
• Investigate issues raised by staff and work towards resolutions.
• Ensure proper documentation for all accounts.
• Manage regulatory obligations and internal reporting deadlines.
• Take part in quality assurance initiatives.
• Review work performed by self and others prior to submission, including balance sheet reconciliations, P&L classifications, and state and local tax filings for accuracy and compliance.
• Communicate regularly and effectively with client contacts.
• Provide general accounting insights and recommendations to clients.
• Ensure the team meets delivery goals through effective process management and inter-departmental communication.
• Identify client concerns and deficiencies, assisting in recommending solutions.
• Act as the main client contact.
• Cultivate client relationships and engage other team members to leverage diverse perspectives and provide comprehensive solutions.
• Actively listen to clients, respond promptly, and effectively address their needs.
• Facilitate client meetings and engage junior team members in these discussions.
• Manage client workload and projects from start to finish, creating work plans, project timelines, and key milestones.
• Efficiently handle multiple projects, coordinating resources, tracking progress, and ensuring deadlines are met while providing the highest level of service and support to clients.
• Prepare, communicate, and monitor budgets for client engagements.
• Serve as a mentor to junior team members.
• Share knowledge, insights, and best practices with others through training, coaching, or mentoring.
• Provide timely feedback to team members.
• Highlight team members' performance strengths and weaknesses, focusing on behaviors and results.
• Facilitate regular meetings with direct reports and assist in establishing their performance objectives.
• Supervise a team for day-to-day scheduling, training, and procedural management.
• Offer guidance and support to team members in developing skills and overcoming challenges.
• Delegate tasks effectively to staff based on their qualifications, capabilities, and interests.
• Manage staff workload to ensure optimal resource utilization and maintain a healthy balance for team members.
• Act as a technical resource to assist project teams, troubleshoot issues, and provide guidance.
• Identify issues and develop solutions, consulting with leadership when necessary.
• Communicate potential additional service offerings to clients.
• Foster established networks to drive full-cycle business development.
• Participate in the development and implementation of client solutions.
• Complete and document research calls promptly.
• Other tasks as assigned.
• Knowledge of market and industry trends.
• Previous business experience and the ability to apply that experience across various client situations.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, and other relevant software.
• Familiarity with using a CRM system.
• Ability to inspire and lead staff.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Capability to meet tight deadlines and handle unexpected and sometimes urgent firm or client issues as they arise.
• Project management and time management proficiency.
• Commitment to client satisfaction.
• **Education:**
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• **Experience:**
• Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in team and project management is required.
• **Licenses/Certifications:**
• QuickBooks Online Pro Advisor Certification.
• CPA License.
