• Support Financial Leadership in defining the vision and objectives for the accounting team.
• Collaborate with Financial Leadership to enhance reporting and analytical processes.
• Identify opportunities for process enhancement and collaborate with relevant Corporate and business units to design, test, and implement effective solutions.
• Supervise effectively, pinpointing areas for process improvement to eliminate unnecessary costs associated with various accounting processes.
• Provide training and development opportunities for the financial accounting team.
• Design, implement, and uphold standardized accounting practices.
• Work closely with finance personnel from business units, Internal Audit, Corporate staff departments, external auditors, offshore resources, and other key members of the Corporate Controller’s group.
• Offer supervision, analysis, insights, and reconciliation for acquisitions, lease accounting, restructuring activities, impairment analysis, and other requests from senior management.
• Oversee the production process of the general ledger and sub-ledger, providing application guidance and problem-solving support for both the Shared Service Center and end-user personnel in the business units.
• Responsible for monthly and quarterly general ledger reporting, including internal and external audit requests for specific areas.
• Monitor and maintain general ledger metrics, including reconciliation reviews.
• Manage quarterly SOX compliance for assigned areas.
• Recruit and develop the financial accounting team, establishing team goals and performance metrics.
• Assist Financial Leadership in ensuring the accuracy and adequacy of internal controls.
• Evaluate performance and provide feedback to the team regarding overall and individual performance.
• Effectively manage the output of our Off-Shore group.
• Collaborate with executive management to integrate more analytical work from the field into the shared services organization.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by reviewing internal processes to identify opportunities.
• Help promote acceptance of change and facilitate change management within the team.
• Support and engage in the transition of new business to the Center.
• Actively participate in the successful integration of acquisition operations into the Center.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by executive management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience is required.
• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in accounting, including general ledger and fixed assets.
• Proven leadership and team-building abilities are essential.
• Knowledge of GAAP and proficiency in fundamental accounting concepts and procedures.
• May require familiarity with or the ability to quickly learn specialized software.
• Must be able to identify anomalies and critical situations and respond appropriately.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust priorities and/or deadlines as necessary.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and time management skills are required.
• Customer service-oriented with strong follow-up skills.
• Must be detail-oriented while maintaining a broader perspective.
• Strong proficiency in desktop software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with SAP, HFM, Essbase, and/or Oracle is preferred but not mandatory.
