Accounting Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the migration of the Owner's ERP from QuickBooks Online to an AI-centric platform (e.g., Rillet, Campfire) - take charge of selection, implementation, data migration, and stabilization, encompassing the complete design of Stripe Connect, Bill.com, Ramp, payroll, and Salesforce integrations.

• Establish inventory and COGS accounting within the ERP - define FIFO versus weighted-average policies, capitalization thresholds, and SKU structures; develop an inventory subledger with automated reconciliations to warehouse movements; account for reserves related to returns, warranty, shrinkage, and obsolescence; provide reliable COGS reporting by product and channel that operations and finance can trust.

• Construct the foundation for international accounting - outline entity setup necessities (multi-currency, intercompany, COA approach), ensure the ERP accommodates multi-entity reporting, consolidation, and eliminations, and collaborate with tax, payroll, and compliance providers for the Canadian launch and beyond.

• Discover and implement AI/automation opportunities across reconciliations, closing tasks, and reporting - reduce manual tasks and enable the team to prioritize judgment over data entry.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including direct responsibility or substantial contribution to an ERP migration or implementation within a scaling organization.

• Experience in inventory accounting and COGS for a physical goods business - not merely GL oversight within a SaaS environment.

• Proven proficiency with accounting systems and integrations: familiar with the data model, comfortable communicating with engineers about APIs, and able to clarify how a Stripe payout translates into a journal entry.

• Experience with multi-entity, multi-currency, and intercompany accounting - or a clear trajectory to achieving this based on previous experience.

• CPA preferred; a combination of public accounting and high-growth in-house experience is strongly favored.

• A builder's mindset: you've operated without a predefined playbook, established policies from first principles, and crafted the SOPs that your team follows.
