• Directly report to and act as a trusted partner for Lyra’s Senior Accounting Manager, Senior Accounting Director, and Controller.
• Guide accounting and operations personnel through the month-end closing process, reporting, reconciliations, and various accounting functions.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, presenting results to executive leadership; conduct monthly and quarterly variance analyses for the balance sheet and income statement.
• Supervise payroll and bonus accounting, encompassing accruals, reconciliations, and period-end closing activities; guarantee the precise recording of compensation expenses and associated liabilities in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
• Oversee accounting for stock-based compensation (SBC), collaborating with the stock administration team to ensure accurate expense recognition, valuation support, and financial statement disclosures.
• Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations among entities; ensure correct eliminations and prompt settlement.
• Initiate and promote process enhancements to improve accuracy, financial control, and efficiency.
• Conduct accounting research to determine the appropriate treatment under relevant guidelines and ensure correct accounting and reporting for ad hoc transactions.
• Identify avenues for improving financial and accounting processes, including data assets, tools, software, and workflows.
• Assist in developing and refining company-wide procedures, policies, internal controls, and documentation to maintain consistency and clarity in business operations.
• Prepare for, assist with, and manage annual financial audits.
• Contribute to ad hoc financial and accounting projects as necessary.
• Proven experience with GAAP accounting standards, ideally at a publicly traded company or a Big 4 firm.
• Over 10 years of experience in accounting, audit, advisory, and/or corporate finance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
• Proficient in managing end-to-end processes across the P&L.
• Familiarity with accounting and financial planning software and ERP systems (NetSuite is a plus).
• Proven ability to communicate and present effectively to senior leadership and external partners.
• Competence in analyzing complex issues, determining the appropriate processes, and deriving accounting conclusions; adept at presenting findings to the team.
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks, prioritize, and manage projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in managing and developing teams.
• Background in establishing processes, procedures, and workflows that facilitate sustainable business growth.
• CPA designation preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience in healthcare and/or startups is an advantage.
