This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Manage the complete accounting cycle, which includes accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and the maintenance of the general ledger.
• Supervise the month-end and year-end closing procedures, encompassing journal entries, allocations, reconciliations, and variance analyses.
• Ensure accurate reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
• Oversee the accounting and reporting of fixed assets.
• Manage the reporting requirements for federal, state, and private grants.
• Guarantee the appropriate allocation of costs and adherence to grant budgets and allowable cost principles.
• Prepare and review internal financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Have a minimum of five (5) years of progressively complex experience in GL, Accounting, and/or Finance Reporting, with at least two (2) years in a leadership role.
• Possess advanced knowledge and understanding of GAAP, non-profit reporting requirements, and financial statement analysis.
• Have a solid background in utilizing computers specifically for accounting systems/modules.
