This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.
• Collaborate with the SVP and Accounting Management to ensure efficient and effective financial reporting.
• Supervise a team responsible for delivering client financial reports.
• Offer direct leadership and mentorship to the Community Accounting Team, guaranteeing accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Work together to achieve the strategic objectives of the department, providing regular training and guidance to Community Accountants.
• Ensure the quality of financial statements by conducting monthly peer reviews and offering constructive feedback to staff.
• Address and resolve issues related to complex accounting transactions that have been escalated.
• Facilitate the timely completion of annual attest work.
• Assist CPA firms in ensuring the timely filing of association tax returns and keep copies of all filed returns.
• Manage a small portfolio of client financial statements.
• Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual Board and Finance Committee Meetings.
• Conduct financial analyses and interpretations.
• Diagnose and resolve accounting issues.
• At least five years of experience in general ledger accounting.
• A minimum of two years in an accounting managerial role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Experience with multi-entity financial statements is essential.
• Preferred experience in the homeowners association industry.
• Excellent communication skills, comfortable interacting with internal and external teams as well as executive management.
• Self-motivated with a strong drive to succeed.
• Capability to train on accounting applications, organizational processes, and procedures.
• Comprehensive understanding of accrual basis accounting.
• Ability to effectively prioritize workload.
• Advanced Excel skills are required.
• Strong problem-solving abilities in accounting issues.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
• If driving is required for this role, a valid state driver’s license for the appropriate vehicle class must be maintained at all times, along with a clean motor vehicle report and current automobile insurance at statutory limits. Immediate notification to People Operations is required for any changes in motor vehicle standing.
