Accounting Associate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Serving as the trusted advisor and accounting department for Wave’s small business clients.

• Responsible for managing bookkeeping accounts for clients in their portfolio to achieve individual revenue goals and contribute to the overall revenue objectives of the team.

• Assisting clients by utilizing Wave’s software to import and categorize transactions, reconcile accounts, complete monthly bookkeeping tasks, generate financial statements, and identify potential bookkeeping issues.

• Exercising judgment to establish appropriate client expectations and consistently meeting or exceeding those expectations.

• Conducting virtual meetings with clients on a regular schedule to review their financial records.

• Effectively communicating accounting concepts in simple terms to clients and addressing any bookkeeping-related inquiries.

• Delivering outstanding customer service and fostering trusting relationships with clients by showcasing accounting expertise during review calls and providing prompt email responses.

• Collaborating with colleagues and assisting team members by sharing experiences and insights.

⛳️ Requirements

• Completion of a post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting, or Business.

• 0-2 years of general work experience.

• Prior experience in cloud accounting.

• A customer-centric mindset coupled with strong problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent communication skills with the capability to explain accounting concepts in simple terms.

• A keen attention to detail is essential for this role.

• Resourcefulness.

• Previous experience working with small businesses is advantageous.
