Accounting Associate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Uruguay.

📋 Description

• Analyze revenue and expense recognition for transactions related to brokerage.

• Assist in the monthly financial statement closing process.

• Generate and uphold reconciliations for balance sheet accounts related to revenue.

• Investigate and reconcile outstanding balances in accounts receivable.

• Detect discrepancies, analyze root causes, and clearly communicate findings.

• Act as a point of contact for inquiries regarding account discrepancies and transaction-related issues.

• Contribute to monthly financial analysis and produce ad-hoc reports.

• Assess accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting systems to identify areas for improvement.

• Aid in accounting projects and enhancements to processes.

• Collaborate with internal and external auditors as necessary.

• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate transaction recording.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a similar field.

• 1–3 years of pertinent accounting experience.

• Practical experience with account reconciliations, month-end closing, accounts receivable, revenue accounting, or transaction analysis.

• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.

• Near-native proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

• Exceptional attention to detail and precision.

• Capability to work independently and adhere to tight deadlines.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

• A desire to understand process mechanics and an eagerness to identify and resolve issues.
