Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee client invoicing, management of accounts receivable, and processing of cash receipts

• Handle vendor invoice processing and manage accounts payable

• Coordinate payments to contractors

• Assist in payroll processing and support

• Review and process employee expenses along with reimbursements

• Conduct reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheets

• Prepare and record journal entries while supporting prepaid and accrual accounting

• Aid in month-end closing processes and financial reporting

• Investigate discrepancies ensuring precise recording of transactions

• Maintain financial records in QuickBooks Online

• Update and manage financial forecasts and reporting through Google Sheets

• Ensure consistency of financial data across various systems

• Enhance and maintain financial system integrations

• Troubleshoot issues and refine accounting workflows

• Assist in the implementation of new financial systems and procedures

• Organize and maintain the Finance Drive along with audit-ready documentation

• Uphold clear accounting processes and documentation standards

• Identify potential improvements for accuracy, organization, and efficiency

• Collaborate with Snowball stakeholders and clients to enhance autonomy in daily accounting operations

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–4 years of relevant experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field

• Strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles and the monthly accounting cycle

• Experience in various accounting domains

• Practical experience with account reconciliations and the month-end closing process

• Knowledge in accounts payable and accounts receivable functions

• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online or a similar accounting platform

• Strong skills in Google Sheets or Excel

• Exceptional attention to detail and adherence to high accuracy standards

• Highly organized with the ability to manage recurring deadlines

• Curious and adept at investigating issues

• Proactive in identifying challenges and proposing effective solutions

• Positive attitude and collaborative mindset

• Strong written and verbal communication capabilities
