Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Execute accounting tasks using QuickBooks Online and additional platforms.

• Assess the impact of accounting transactions based on either Accrual or Cash Basis.

• Draft the initial version of monthly financial statements.

• Oversee the month-end closing procedures.

• Maintain supporting schedules for the Balance Sheet, including Prepaid Expenses, Accrued Expenses, Fixed Asset Schedule, and Payroll liability reconciliations.

• Prepare and document month-end journal entries.

• Manage the complete cycle of Accounts Receivable (A/R) and Accounts Payable (A/P).

• Prepare and review payroll processes.

• Prepare and review Sales Tax submissions.

• Act as the primary point of contact for clients.

• Review the work of team members; assist the Controller in mentoring and training less experienced staff.

• Implement new technology integrations and resolve any issues that arise.

• Collaborate with various vendors and platforms to facilitate accounting operations (e.g., expense management software, payroll providers, etc).

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; or equivalent bookkeeping certification.

• Expertise in using QuickBooks Online.

• Strong understanding of accrual accounting, consolidated financial statements, revenue recognition, and the month-end closing process.

• Outstanding attention to detail, with the capability to manage several tasks and complete projects within set deadlines.

• High comfort level with utilizing tools and technology to collaborate effectively with remote team members.

• Experience working with multiple clients/entities (more than 5) across diverse industries to provide bookkeeping or accounting services.

• Analytical mindset skilled in creative problem solving and exercising independent judgment.
