Senior SMSF Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Accurately prepare and process intricate SMSF returns, financial statements, and workpapers within the stipulated deadlines.

• Conduct a limited review of simpler jobs and workpapers completed by Junior Accountants, escalating complex issues to the SMSF Team Leader.

• Provide assistance and mentorship to Junior SMSF Accountants, fostering their technical growth and addressing daily inquiries.

• Utilize a strong working knowledge of Class Super for fund processing, reconciliations, and reporting tasks.

• Demonstrate a solid understanding of SMSF property investments, including Limited Recourse Borrowing Arrangements (LRBAs).

• Identify and report any technical or compliance issues to the SMSF Team Leader for resolution.

• Aid in audit preparations and respond to audit inquiries as directed by the SMSF Team Leader.

• Contribute to an efficient workflow, adhering to service standards and proactively addressing capacity concerns.

• Assist client services by addressing client queries and, when necessary, engage in direct communication with clients.

⛳️ Requirements

• Hold a degree or relevant tertiary qualification in accounting.

• CA or CPA qualified (or significantly advanced towards completion).

• Possess over 3 years of experience in SMSF returns, with exposure to LRBA structures and SMSF property.

• Experience in preparing complex SMSF jobs and confidence in mentoring less experienced team members.

• Essential strong working knowledge of Class Super (non-negotiable).

• Experience with BGL Simple Fund 360 is highly regarded.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office/Windows suite, XPM (or a similar practice management software), and CAS.

• Proven ability to work independently in a remote, offshore environment with excellent time management skills.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities, combined with excellent interpersonal skills.

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.

• Highly organized and self-driven, capable of prioritizing tasks to uphold service standards.
