Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Executing accounting tasks using QuickBooks Online and additional platforms

• Ability to assess the impact of accounting transactions based on either an Accrual or Cash Basis

• Drafting the preliminary version of monthly financial statements

• Overseeing the month-end closing process

• Maintaining supporting schedules for the Balance Sheet, including: Prepaid Expenses, Accrued Expenses, Fixed Asset Schedule, and Payroll liability reconciliations

• Preparing and documenting month-end journal entries

• Completing full-cycle responsibilities for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable

• Preparing and reviewing payroll

• Preparing and reviewing Sales Tax

• Serving as the primary point of contact for clients

• Reviewing the work of team members and assisting the Controller in mentoring and training less experienced colleagues

• Setting up new technology integrations and resolving any issues

• Collaborating with various vendors and platforms to facilitate accounting operations (e.g., expense management software, payroll providers, etc.)

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience

• A Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; or a bookkeeping certification

• Expertise in using QuickBooks Online

• Strong knowledge of accrual accounting, consolidated financial statements, revenue recognition, and executing the month-end closing process

• An analytical thinker with a talent for creative problem-solving and independent judgment

• Excellent attention to detail, capability to manage multiple tasks, and complete projects within designated timeframes

• Enjoys interacting with clients

• High comfort level with utilizing tools and technology to collaborate with remote team members

• Must reside in a state where we are established (Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, Minnesota).
