Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Execute accounting tasks using QuickBooks Online and other platforms.

• Assess the impact of accounting transactions based on Accrual or Cash Basis.

• Draft the initial version of monthly financial statements.

• Oversee the month-end closing process.

• Maintain supporting schedules for the Balance Sheet, which includes Prepaid Expenses, Accrued Expenses, Fixed Asset Schedule, and Payroll liability reconciliations.

• Prepare and record journal entries for month-end.

• Perform complete cycle duties for Accounts Receivable (A/R) and Accounts Payable (A/P).

• Prepare and review payroll processes.

• Prepare and review Sales Tax submissions.

• Act as the main point of contact for clients.

• Review the work of team members; assist the Controller in mentoring and training less experienced colleagues.

• Implement new technology integrations and address any issues that arise.

• Collaborate with vendors and platforms to execute accounting operations, such as expense management software and payroll providers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience.

• Experience managing multiple clients/entities (more than 5) across various industries to provide bookkeeping or accounting services.

• Over 4 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting.

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; or bookkeeping certification.

• Proficient in using QuickBooks Online.

• Skilled in accrual accounting, consolidated financial statements, revenue recognition, and conducting the month-end closing process.

• Analytical thinker adept in creative problem-solving and exercising independent judgment.

• Strong attention to detail, capable of handling multiple tasks, and completing projects within set deadlines.

• Enjoys interaction with clients.

• High comfort level in utilizing tools and technology to collaborate with remote team members.

• Must reside in a state where we are established (Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, Minnesota).
