Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nicaragua.

📋 Description

• Accurately process daily Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions in a timely manner.

• Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation and meticulous attention to detail.

• Conduct bank and account reconciliations to ensure financial records are maintained accurately.

• Assist with month-end closing activities by completing designated schedules, entries, and necessary follow-ups.

• Identify, investigate, and help rectify discrepancies in transactions, balances, and supporting documents.

• Provide financial reporting support and routine accounting analysis to the U.S. finance team.

• Communicate effectively in English with U.S. stakeholders and in Spanish with stakeholders from Mexico.

• Organize and maintain records while adhering to established accounting procedures within the client's remote desktop environment.

• Proactively identify and raise any issues, missing information, or process gaps that could hinder accounting timelines.

• Participate in cross-training for related accounting tasks to assist a streamlined finance team and minimize bottlenecks.

⛳️ Requirements

• **Must-Have:**

• 2 to 3 years of accounting experience, preferably with a robust foundation in transactional accounting.

• Professional proficiency in both Spanish and English.

• Practical experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.

• Familiarity with month-end close activities and the capability to independently complete assigned tasks.

• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP principles.

• Intermediate Excel skills, including experience with Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP or XLOOKUP, and reconciliation tasks.

• **Nice to Have:**

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP or a similar desktop ERP system.

• Previous experience assisting a U.S.-based finance or accounting team.

• A dual-monitor home office setup.

• Experience using remote desktop software.
