This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana.
• The Account Specialist is tasked with optimizing opportunities for the product portfolio within a single-layer geographical area.
• Establish and nurture strategic business connections with Hospitals, Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), Academic Institutions, Outpatient Accounts, Long Term Care Facilities, Government Accounts, and Specialty Private Practices.
• Engage in networking, client services, and possess a comprehensive understanding of institutional and medical practices.
• Progress hospital and specialty clients along the sales continuum, securing commitments from prescribers.
• Conduct on-label presentations and sales calls, emphasizing the advantages and potential risks associated with the product portfolio.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of and ability to troubleshoot product and patient flow through Specialty Pharmacy, Specialty Distribution, and Buy and Bill channels.
• Foster relationships across accounts, creating opportunities that benefit patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals (HCPs).
• Attend and engage actively in local boards, societies, and conventions.
• Fulfill all required training by AbbVie and consistently adhere to all company policies and OEC/Legal procedures.
• A Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or a business-related field is preferred, or relevant and equivalent industry experience is necessary.
• At least five (5) years of relevant and equivalent industry experience is required in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, including three (3) or more years in the pharmaceutical, health, or science industry, along with a high school diploma/GED.
• Experience in account-based selling (Hospitals, Infusion Centers) and building advocacy within hospitals.
• Proven track record of navigating the matrix environment within accounts.
• Familiarity with the formulary approval process and the ability to drive formulary approvals.
• Preferred experience with Buy and Bill and specialty pharmacy products.
• Documented history of strong sales performance.
• Demonstrated advanced sales skills.
• A strong desire to explore new territories and continuously improve personal, professional, and account knowledge.
• Strong business acumen: individual accountability and ownership of the sales geography, with the capability to multitask effectively, solve problems, and influence without authority.
