This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.
• Act as the representative for Alcon in surgical accounts and implement territory strategies
• Foster sales growth by building customer relationships, facilitating IOL and cataract consumables sales, generating equipment leads, managing stock support, and handling invoicing/contract follow-ups
• Provide assistance to hospitals, particularly in surgical and theatre departments, throughout the South of Ireland
• Take ownership of sales performance and market share for the complete Alcon IOL product range
• Oversee and support the availability and usage of consumables
• Generate equipment leads with expert product support
• Create and implement account plans focused on cataract procedures
• Extract customer insights and translate them into commercial strategies
• Offer comprehensive customer support and coordinate specialized roles
• Analyze decision-making processes and key stakeholders to guide business strategies
• Cultivate relationships with stakeholders and represent Alcon effectively
• Employ a consultative sales methodology to align products and services with customer and patient requirements
• Stimulate demand, follow up on contract discussions, and prepare and negotiate quotes for customers
• Collaborate with technical and clinical experts as necessary
• Organize and lead local customer-centric events
• Monitor and report on competitor activities
• Convert competitors' business through value-driven selling
• Proven sales experience in medical devices and/or a pharmaceutical setting, particularly within a surgical context
• Experience in consultative selling within B2B sectors, preferably with high-end medical devices
• Background in ophthalmology is preferred but not mandatory
• Experience in roles that involve direct interaction with both medical and non-medical personnel
• Familiarity with working across functions and within matrix organizations
• Proficient in using budget impact models and showcasing value propositions
• Strong business acumen and sales capabilities
• Exceptional technical, interpersonal communication, and negotiation skills
• Robust problem-solving abilities
• Basic understanding of surgical techniques, anatomy, physiology, pathology, and optics
• Insight into business acumen, particularly value-based selling
• Negotiation proficiency
• Knowledge of cataract consumables, equipment, diagnostics, and visualization is advantageous but not essential
• Capacity to manage personal workload and timelines while achieving targets
• Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and exchange best practices
• This position is a 12-month contract
