This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in China.
• Oversee both new and existing clients within the academic publishing sector.
• Explore opportunities in the Chinese market and strengthen strategic partnerships to enhance revenue.
• Meet and surpass annual sales targets for the territory while contributing to overall revenue and profit goals.
• Develop and implement short-, medium-, and long-term business strategies for the region.
• Organize schedules and conduct regular sales visits to customers across the product range.
• Accelerate sales momentum by finalizing deals within set timelines.
• Balance core revenue growth with the pursuit of new products and market avenues.
• Foster sustainable, profitable customer relationships and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Build professional networks with industry stakeholders, including institutions, distributors, funders, and governmental organizations.
• Identify new customers and business opportunities to enhance revenues in the Academic division.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Editorial, Credit Control, Sales Support, and other internal teams.
• Maintain the company CRM with up-to-date customer and opportunity information.
• Provide reports on market developments and the business landscape.
• Tailor sales documents and tools to meet specific needs.
• Design customized promotional activities for key clients and implement general promotions.
• Adhere to the company's trading and terms policy.
• Evaluate products, customers, markets, and competitors, providing recommendations for enhancements.
• Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as necessary to support evolving business requirements.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of proven experience in successful account management.
• Strong knowledge of the academic publishing field and business models related to academic content.
• Prior experience in a sales position with proven success.
• History of excelling in high-pressure sales settings and achieving ambitious revenue goals.
• Solid business acumen, with an understanding of implications for profitability, markets, and competition.
• Ability to analyze and synthesize complex or varied information.
• Experience in data collection and research.
• Strong consultative sales skills with the capability to deliver customized customer solutions.
• Professional demeanor and capability to perform well under pressure.
• Proactive, solutions-driven mindset focused on progress and results.
• Resilience and flexibility in managing change.
• Strong analytical skills and experience utilizing data to enhance sales performance.

• Willingness to travel within the territory and attend conferences and book fairs as necessary.
• Native proficiency in Mandarin.
• Proficient in English, with business-appropriate verbal and written communication abilities.
• Competent in using MS Office and other sales tools or systems.
• Must possess the right to work in China.
• Candidates based in Anhui must be able to work remotely and travel to customer sites and the Shanghai or Beijing offices as needed.
• Candidates residing in Shanghai should live within a commutable distance to the Shanghai office and be available to attend the office three days a week.
