This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the territory and oversee the complete sales lifecycle while fostering new business connections with school districts.
• Create business plans for the territory, assess funding opportunities, and customize sales approaches to align with district goals.
• Meet individual revenue objectives while working in collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance the national sales organization.
• Engage with school and district leaders to present solutions, negotiate terms, and finalize agreements.
• Promote the expansion and adoption of Newsela products within K–12 classrooms.
• Serve as the company's representative in the market, offering strategic recommendations and managing priorities independently.
• Assess customer requirements, design customized solutions, negotiate within set parameters, and influence revenue and business results.
• Minimum of 2 years of comprehensive K–12 EdTech SaaS sales experience specifically in East Coast states, with a proven track record of meeting or surpassing quotas.
• Candidates located outside the Eastern Time Zone must possess previous East Coast K–12 EdTech SaaS sales experience and be fully available during Eastern and select Central school district hours.
• Prior experience in ELA or Social Studies teaching/instructional coaching or a strong understanding of K–12 pedagogy is preferred.
• Experience in strategic territory management with an executive presence for consultative discussions with districts and multiple stakeholders.
• Proven track record in high-volume district sales and establishing a book of business from the ground up.
• Capacity to drive sales quickly to closure and excel in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to remain organized, adapt to changes, learn swiftly, uphold high service standards, and achieve sales targets.
• Willingness to meet customers and prospects in person; approximately 15% travel required.
• Familiarity with AI tools to enhance efficiency and productivity.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
