This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• The Business Development Manager will collaborate closely with Regional Sales Management and the Product Line Management team, taking charge of identifying and managing emerging accounts, maintaining customer records, and overseeing the CRM database, all while aiming to surpass an annual quota assignment.
• Engage in prospecting to pinpoint and qualify potential customers.
• Generate leads through referral channels and foster new key accounts.
• Build relationships with key technical authorities and represent the voice of the customer within VIAVI.
• Oversee a pipeline of opportunities from both current and prospective customers to guarantee that revenue goals are met.
• This includes assessing opportunities within the pipeline, effectively prioritizing activities, and managing time and commitments to ensure that funnel opportunities advance through the design-in cycle.
• Have a robust technical understanding of PNT solutions to comprehend customer design challenges, and subsequently, develop and propose a VIAVI solution that leverages our unique capabilities to offer exceptional value in the customer's application.
• Use CRM to accurately input sales forecasts and monitor the progression of the sales funnel from identification through to design win.
• Possess a solid technical grasp of RF/MW technologies and VIAVI’s unique selling proposition; stay informed about market conditions, competitor products, and industry trends.
• A minimum of 4 years’ experience in developing and managing OEM accounts.
• At least 4 years’ experience in PNT products within a technical sales capacity.
• A BS degree in physics, engineering (EE, CSE), or a related technical discipline.
• Familiarity with the Government prime contractor procurement process is essential.
• Must have the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
• Experience with applications of various PNT-related components and modules or timing circuit design is highly desirable.
• Proven track record of success in sales, capture, or business development within commercial sectors, including the development of customer relationships, a qualified pipeline, and industry connections.
• Demonstrated capability to establish relationships with senior technical and business managers at key customer organizations.
• A self-starter with strong interpersonal skills, capable of communicating easily and effectively with customers and within the organization.
