This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Assist in the academic, college-career, and social-emotional growth of Academy students in grades 6–12.
• Evaluate incoming student transcripts, including those from international sources, to aid in the creation of course schedules.
• Ensure that students fulfill academic criteria for promotion, graduation, and college admission.
• Track student progress and pacing in accordance with Laurel Springs’ policies.
• Facilitate grade-level seminar courses and provide constructive feedback on assignments.
• Offer personalized support for post-secondary aspirations, including career exploration, college list development, and pathway options.
• Compose letters of recommendation for student applications.
• Lead live and pre-recorded webinars, events, and activities for the Counseling Department.
• Organize and support exclusive counseling opportunities for the Academy.
• Maintain communication with students, parents, teachers, staff, and administrators through email, phone, video conferencing, and other platforms.
• Collaborate with middle and high school faculty and staff to support individual students and comprehensive programming.
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings to address academic, social/emotional, and college/career requirements.
• Aid in student enrollment through virtual open houses and admissions or marketing events.
• Contribute to newsletters and other school communications.
• Participate in school-wide meetings, events, communications, and activities both online and in person, including required evening virtual events.
• Engage in continuous professional development, self-evaluation, and improvement.
• Uphold confidentiality regarding students, families, staff, management, and operations.
• Execute additional counseling-related responsibilities as assigned.
• Master’s degree or higher in School Counseling.
• Valid School Counseling certification.
• Compliance with state and local regulations regarding background checks and credentials.
• Over 5 years of experience in counseling or working in a school environment, particularly supporting high school students.
• Preferably have prior experience with middle school students.
• Significant experience aiding students through the college application process.
• Experience in developing student schedules and academic plans.
• Proficient in word processing, productivity, communication, and educational technology tools.
• Strong preference for expertise in G-Suite, Learning Management Systems, and Student Information Systems.
• Excellent analytical, interpretive, evaluative, constructive-thinking, and organizational skills.
• Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities.
• Reliable, high-speed internet access and a quiet workspace.
• Availability during weekdays, Monday–Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET, as well as for occasional evening events.
• Flexibility to assist international students or those needing communication outside of standard office hours.
• Willingness to travel for in-person events, meetings, and training at least once or twice a year.
