Academic Engagement Coach

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Greet new families and assist them in setting up their accounts, navigating the platform, and utilizing orientation resources.

• Foster supportive relationships with students to enhance motivation, a sense of connection, and a feeling of belonging.

• Track student participation and reach out to those who are disengaged or not participating.

• Create engagement plans and incentive programs aimed at boosting attendance and academic involvement.

• Collaborate with educators to modify instructional approaches for students who are struggling.

• Communicate with families regarding attendance expectations, concerns, and improvement strategies.

• Work with counselors, social workers, and administrators to tackle attendance-related challenges.

• Participate in attendance conferences and be an active member of the school academic intervention team.

• Align remediation efforts with the curriculum and student learning objectives.

• Utilize assessment data to formulate and oversee intervention plans.

• Document interventions and report on student progress to relevant stakeholders.

• Safeguard confidential student information and maintain accurate records in PowerSchool.

• Engage in professional development and contribute positively to the school culture.

• Implement school systems, policies, and procedures to address requests.

⛳️ Requirements

• NC Teaching Certification / NC Teaching License is mandatory.

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required.

• Candidates must reside in North Carolina.

• Previous experience in a school setting is essential.

• Strong organizational and time management abilities are required.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is expected.

• Experience with student information systems or comparable databases is preferred.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively are essential.

• Ability to keep student information confidential is critical.
