3D Layout Artist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Translate scripts into engaging and clear 3D layouts and animatics.

• Utilize virtual cameras to frame shots, manage camera movement, and design transitions.

• Establish visual flow, timing, pacing, spatial relationships, and continuity.

• Manage animation blocking and character poses to create actions, staging, and storytelling elements.

• Collaborate closely with the Channel Director to enhance visual storytelling.

• Create scenes and layouts using Unreal Engine.

• Prepare environments and assets for both review and production stages.

• Experiment with innovative camera techniques and visual strategies to depict complex historical events, environments, and concepts.

• Develop structured layouts and animatics to serve as a foundation for animators.

• Organize scenes, assets, and project files within the production workflow.

• Review outputs, integrate feedback, and refine layouts to align with the creative vision.

• Ensure consistency and continuity across all scenes.

• Maintain accessible project files and assets for the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of experience in 3D layout, animation, camera operations, or a similar role in YouTube, film, or television production.

• Strong expertise in Unreal Engine, preferably version 5.6.1.

• Comprehensive understanding of cinematic techniques, including composition, framing, camera movement, timing, and transitions.

• Experience with animation blocking and character posing.

• Knowledge of how staging and body language contribute to effective storytelling.

• Capability to convert scripts into coherent and engaging sequences.

• Highly organized with a keen eye for detail.

• Ability to independently manage assets, scenes, and project files in a hands-on production setting.

• Proactive and collaborative mindset.

• Strong communication skills in a fast-paced production environment.

• Comfortable working autonomously, addressing visual challenges, and applying feedback.

• Familiarity with Blender for 3D scene preparation or related tasks is an added advantage.

• Experience in managing or contributing to 3D animation pipelines is a plus.

• Understanding of YouTube retention strategies, pacing, and viewer engagement is beneficial.

• Interest in storytelling psychology and audience behavior is an additional asset.

• Experience with documentaries, historical content, or educational entertainment is desirable.

• Willingness to engage in various stages of production as needed is a plus.
