This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Design, develop, and enhance the Zabbix monitoring platform.
• Create templates, discovery rules, triggers, thresholds, and integrations.
• Ensure uniform and scalable configuration across all monitored devices.
• Implement monitoring that accurately reflects:
• Service health.
• Customer impact.
• End-user experience.
• Transition from basic device availability to comprehensive service-level observability.
• Design and optimize alerting models in line with business impact.
• Minimize false positives and reduce alert noise.
• Ensure alerts are actionable and facilitate efficient triage by the NOC.
• Integrate Zabbix with:
• Vendor platforms.
• APIs and SNMP sources.
• Synthetic monitoring solutions.
• Assist in the development of a “single pane of glass” for monitoring visibility.
• Enable correlation of device → service → location.
• Enhance the accuracy of incident communications and field dispatch information.
• Support alignment with service and asset data sources.
• Define and maintain SOPs for alert triage and escalation.
• Collaborate with NOC and service teams to enhance:
• Incident workflows.
• Problem management integration.
• Support continuous service improvement initiatives.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Zabbix (design, build, optimization).
• Strong understanding of network monitoring across WAN, routing, switching, WiFi, and service layers.
• Experience with SNMP and device telemetry.
• Proficiency in API integrations.
• Experience in synthetic/user experience monitoring.
• Scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, Bash, or similar).
• Experience in designing alerting logic and monitoring frameworks.
• Familiarity with service-aware monitoring or observability approaches (preferred).
• Background in a network operations or monitoring environment.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities.
• Capacity to prioritize and manage incidents based on their impact.
• Knowledge of ITIL-based incident and problem management processes.
• Degree in IT, Networking, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, Network+, ITIL) are advantageous.
