This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Time Series & ML Engineering: Assist the team in developing, enhancing, and retraining machine learning forecasting models.
• Production Operations: Actively participate in the monitoring, updating, and troubleshooting of forecasting models and pipelines in production settings.
• Data Pipelines & Cleansing: Contribute to the creation and maintenance of robust data transformation pipelines utilizing SQLMesh and BigQuery for the pre-processing of large data streams.
• Simulation & Validation: Leverage our internal simulation framework to backtest forecasting models and evaluate how forecast errors directly influence our high-level EMS optimization yield.
• Agentic AI & Workflow Automation: Support the development, structuring, and testing of behaviors for autonomous AI agents to facilitate workflow automation.
• Documentation & Team Sync: Help ensure the maintenance of clear and precise technical documentation in Notion and collaborate with Optimization and Data Engineers during sprint cycles.
• Current Studies: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or a similar quantitative discipline.
• Python Foundations: Proficient in Python with a solid understanding of essential data science libraries (pandas, numpy, scikit-learn).
• ML Domain Knowledge: Strong theoretical grasp of machine learning principles, statistical analysis, model architectures (e.g., regression, tree-based ensembles), and important evaluation metrics.
• Analytical Mindset: Passionate about troubleshooting data quality issues and validating model results through quantitative metrics.
• Team & Agile Mindset: You possess a collaborative spirit, enjoy working in agile settings (such as sprints), and value transparent teamwork with colleagues.
• Domain Interest: A sincere interest in renewable energy, battery storage systems, smart grids, or electricity markets.
• Bonus points for: Initial experience with cloud-based infrastructure (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure), particularly in containerized workflows and data warehouse solutions.
• SQL Literacy: Familiarity with relational databases and proficiency in writing SQL queries for data extraction, manipulation, and aggregation.
• Practical experience using generative AI tools, prompt engineering, or configuring AI coding assistants.
• Basic experience with data pipeline tools like SQLMesh or dbt, and fundamental knowledge of visualization tools such as Grafana or Looker.
