Principal Data Science Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with subject matter experts from airlines to discover opportunities for utilizing data to provide insights and actionable predictions regarding customer behavior and operational performance.

• Evaluate the effectiveness and precision of new data sources, data collection methods, and forecasting techniques.

• Create customized data models and algorithms to apply to data sets and conduct proof of concept studies.

• Utilize existing Statistical and Machine Learning tools to improve internal algorithms.

• Partner with software engineers to implement and test production-ready code for AI/ML models.

• Establish processes and tools to monitor and assess data accuracy and the performance of models.

• Showcase software to clients and conduct value-proving benchmarks.

• Tailor software to meet customer requirements and provide training for usage and maintenance.

• Address customer issues with the software and respond to enhancement suggestions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Advanced degree in Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Machine Learning.

• Demonstrated ability to apply modeling and analytical skills to practical challenges.

• Familiarity with machine learning techniques (such as clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks) and statistical concepts (including regression, distribution properties, and statistical tests).

• Strong programming proficiency in 2-3 languages from R, SQL, Python, TensorFlow, PySpark, Java, JavaScript, or C++.

• Experience in deploying machine learning and statistical models on cloud platforms: MLOps experience within the enterprise CI/CD process to implement Sabre CI/CD for ML models.

• Proven experience deploying ML APIs in production environments on GCP using GKE Kubernetes Service.

• Proficient in using GCP Vertex AI for ML and BigQuery for Data Warehouse.

• Knowledge of Terraform and container technologies.

• Experience writing data processing jobs with GCP Dataflow and Dataproc.

• Skilled in setting up ML model monitoring and autoscaling for ML prediction jobs.

• Understanding of machine learning concepts to scale ML across various services by utilizing Feature Store and Artifacts Registry.
