This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design and implement sophisticated forecasting models for sales, inventory, transportation, and transit time estimation to enhance accuracy and operational efficiency.

• Work in close collaboration with fulfillment, transportation, revenue, product, engineering, and data science teams to convert business requirements into predictive solutions that yield cost savings and improve customer experience.

• Take ownership of machine learning projects from start to finish—covering ideation, data exploration, prototyping, production deployment, monitoring, and ongoing enhancement.

• Discover optimization opportunities by utilizing predictive analytics to decrease costs, enhance inventory placement, and reduce transit times across ShipBob’s global network.

• Effectively convey insights and recommendations through reports, dashboards, and presentations to senior stakeholders (from Director to C-Suite), influencing strategic decisions.

• Advocate for best practices in modeling and experimentation, ensuring solutions are scalable, reliable, and deliver measurable impact.

• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of professional experience in data science, machine learning engineering, or technical leadership roles.

• Demonstrated capability to design, prototype, scale, and launch data science solutions that effectively address genuine business needs.

• Strong grasp of the machine learning lifecycle, including best practices, algorithms, and areas such as anomaly detection, NLP, computer vision, personalization, recommendation, and optimization.

• Proven experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders and using domain expertise to deliver impactful solutions.

• Excellent programming skills in Python, along with familiarity in software engineering principles (testing, code reviews, deployment).

• Fundamental knowledge of data engineering principles, including building data pipelines, processing, and storage.

• Product-oriented mindset with the capacity to apply conceptual and innovative thinking to develop user-centric solutions.

• Strong communication skills, capable of engaging audiences at varying technical expertise levels.

• A graduate degree (MS/PhD) in a quantitative field (engineering, computer science, machine learning, operations research, statistics, mathematics) is advantageous.

• Experience with applied machine learning and cloud deployment (preferably within the Azure ecosystem) is highly sought after.
