Senior Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• The main objective of the Senior Data Scientist is to create, implement, and sustain machine learning or AI models and algorithms aimed at improving underwriting processes and customer management strategies.

• This position entails ongoing enhancement and experimentation with models, assessing their performance, and delivering data-driven insights to inform business choices.

• Furthermore, this role includes engaging in strategic decision-making and mentoring fellow team members.

• Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models and algorithms for underwriting and customer management.

• Create and execute experiments to improve current models, ensuring their precision and reliability through thorough testing, validation, and benchmarking.

• Establish monitoring systems to evaluate the performance and quality of models, routinely reviewing and retraining them based on shifting data patterns and business needs.

• Utilize advanced analytical techniques to tackle intricate business problems, presenting insights through visualizations and effectively conveying findings to non-technical audiences.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field).

• 5 years of experience in data analytics.

• Demonstrated experience in Data Science (minimum of 3 years).

• Familiarity and expertise with ML/AI models.

• Strong proficiency in SQL.

• Production programming experience in Python (class-oriented) and the Pandas library.

• Knowledge of Cloud Services (preferably AWS).

• Understanding of statistical fundamentals: hypothesis testing, parametric models (e.g., generalized linear models, logistic models, time series models, etc.), hierarchical models, A/B testing, statistical sampling techniques, experimental design, and simulation.
