Wordpress Backend Developer – BOT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain themes and plugins for WordPress.

• Tailor WordPress solutions to align with business requirements, including creating custom post types, taxonomies, and shortcodes.

• Spearhead the implementation of WordPress features and projects, working alongside cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.

• Oversee DNS configurations and ensure accurate domain routing for WordPress-based sites.

• Familiarity with WPEngine is advantageous, particularly in performance optimization and environment management.

• Engage in architectural discussions, offering insights on WordPress scalability and security.

• Mentor junior developers by providing technical guidance and support as necessary.

• Conduct code reviews to guarantee compliance with best practices, maintainability, and performance optimization.

• Collaborate closely with designers and frontend developers to integrate backend logic with custom themes and user interfaces.

• Develop and enhance database queries for WordPress (MySQL), ensuring optimal performance and scalability.

• Diagnose and resolve complex WordPress issues, delivering timely resolutions and root cause analysis.

• Create comprehensive unit tests to uphold code quality and maintainability.

• Follow industry best practices, including SOLID principles, for creating maintainable and scalable WordPress solutions.

• Keep abreast of emerging WordPress technologies, advocating for best practices and tools.

• Take part in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

• 3-5 years of experience in WordPress development, encompassing theme and plugin development.

• Strong knowledge of PHP and the WordPress ecosystem.

• Experience with DNS management and domain configurations.

• Proficient in MySQL and skilled in optimizing WordPress database performance.

• Familiarity with RESTful API development and integration within the WordPress environment.

• Understanding of version control systems, particularly Git.

• Knowledge of Agile methodologies or similar development processes.

• Capability to mentor junior developers.
