This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +12 more states.
• Act as the main point of contact for all State Party Chairs, Vice Chairs, and Executive Directors within the assigned region.
• Provide guidance and coaching to State Leadership teams to establish and reach ambitious objectives.
• Oversee all communications with State Parties, which includes, but is not limited to, conducting regular state check-ins; directing requests for assistance; preparing briefings and background materials; organizing regional online meetings; distributing travel notifications and updates on programs and partnership opportunities; and identifying ways to foster robust two-way communication between State Parties and the ASDC.
• Participate in all meetings, briefings, planning sessions, and other activities related to State Parties.
• Collaborate with State Parties to manage requests for surrogates for both virtual and in-person events, as well as for email communications, letters, social media posts, and more.
• Travel to states within the region to assist State Parties with strategic assessments and planning; fundraising events and conventions; training sessions; crucial meetings; elections; and other events as necessary/requested, including possible electoral deployments in the final weeks of a cycle.
• Implement national strategic goals in their designated states and advocate for the interests of those states in national discussions.
• Contribute to the joint ASDC/DNC training initiative, which involves advising on training priorities; aiding in curriculum creation; and facilitating in-state and regional training sessions.
• Collaborate closely with all DNC departments to support State Party initiatives and inform departments of State Party activities, needs, and opportunities—such as working with the DNC Tech Team on voter file updates and coordinating with Communications and Research to highlight Administration programs and accomplishments.
• Partner with the ASDC Executive Director and the DNC Political Department to manage the State Party Partnership (SPP) program, which includes conducting regular State Party check-ins; recommending DNC support opportunities to enhance state core infrastructure; creating state-specific assessments and plans; and monitoring progress on key deliverables.
• Work with all relevant DNC departments during the planning and development phases of national programs that involve or depend on State Parties.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Executive Director.
• Undertake other duties as required to support the department and the DNC's mission.
• A minimum of five years of experience at the state and/or national level in a campaign or state party, with a strong preference for state party experience.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to quickly build and maintain strong relationships, accompanied by a high level of tact and diplomacy.
• Clear and effective verbal and written communication and presentation abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Exceptional judgement, both politically and practically.
• Proven ability to navigate conflicts and work toward resolutions.
• Extensive experience in developing and leveraging political relationships.
• In-depth knowledge of and experience with organizing.
• A collaborative and empowering approach to leadership and management.
• Familiarity with all components of a successful statewide campaign.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and engage with multiple stakeholders simultaneously.
• A solutions-oriented mindset; willingness to take initiative while managing multiple priorities; creative and innovative thinking; along with energy, enthusiasm, and a positive outlook; resilient and adaptable to changing priorities.
• Regional Directors are prohibited from holding leadership roles within their state parties or the national party. It is essential that staff members focus on serving the state parties and remain mission-driven.
