Weekend Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Operate on a Friday-Tuesday shift pattern, including weekends.

• Create highly-scalable mobile internet backends catering to millions of users.

• Collaborate with Project Managers and fellow development team members to identify new features and user stories needed for new or updated applications, as well as large or complex development projects.

• Engage in code reviews with peers and managers to ensure that each iteration aligns with the original vision detailed in the user story and adheres to all relevant resource libraries and architectural patterns.

• Address support calls for applications in production to quickly diagnose and resolve issues, ensuring smooth operations for users.

• Take part in all team ceremonies, including planning, grooming, product demonstrations, and team retrospectives.

• Provide mentorship to less experienced team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3+ years of experience in a relevant position.

• Must be located in Europe or Latin America.

• Preferred knowledge of Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Data, and iBATIS.

• Solid experience with highly-scalable web backends.

• Experience in designing highly transactional systems.

• Advanced skills in Object-Oriented Design (OOD) and analysis.

• Advanced expertise in applying analysis/design engineering functions.

• Advanced knowledge of non-functional software qualities, such as resiliency and maintainability.

• Advanced skills in modern behavior-driven testing methodologies.

• Strong understanding of Microservices architecture.

• Proficient in SQL.

• Expert knowledge of application development using technologies like RabbitMQ, MySQL, Redis, etc.

• Significant experience with container and cloud solutions, including Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS Cloud.

• Ability to work independently.

• Excellent English communication skills.
