VRI/OPI Interpretation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Peru.

📋 Description

• Professionally respond to calls while adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific terminology relevant to the industry in which you will be interpreting (particularly healthcare and medical) - training will be provided.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages without adding, omitting, or altering any content.

• Deliver exceptional customer service during interpretation sessions.

• Enable effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and Clients by providing precise and complete interpretations of messages.

• Uphold established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training.

• Show enthusiasm for obtaining new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report to your team leader.

• Adhere to dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Fluent in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Quechua."

• A minimum of 1+ years of experience in over-the-phone interpretation with a reputable interpretation company is advantageous, though not essential.

• Familiarity with medical terminology is beneficial but not required.

• Awareness of legal terminology is a plus.

• Possession of international certifications in the healthcare sector is advantageous (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and respect for diverse cultures.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
