VP of Investments

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Origination: Develop and enhance a thorough understanding of market participants and borrowers across Accial’s markets to identify promising lenders for portfolio expansion.

• Participate in industry events and cultivate strategic alliances with relevant entities that can aid in deal sourcing (e.g., venture capital firms, accelerators, industry associations, etc.).

• Investment due diligence: Oversee borrower due diligence, including on-site assessments, examining success drivers, risks, client protection, and impact.

• Collaborate closely with our risk, legal, and technology teams to facilitate and finalize transactions.

• Negotiate terms and structure of agreements.

• Prepare and present investment memorandums to the Investment Committee.

• Monitor pertinent market and macroeconomic trends closely.

• Impact: Implement Accial’s impact framework during due diligence and investment monitoring.

• Contribute to the development of impact-linked incentives to encourage companies to enhance their impact on gender, climate, and governance.

• Portfolio management: Support the risk team with ongoing portfolio management as required.

• Train and upskill: Continuously refine and enhance the Accial approach to private debt and impact.

• Mentor team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of pertinent professional experience in private credit or a closely related field such as venture capital, private equity, or investment banking.

• Proven track record of successfully sourcing credit transactions in emerging markets is highly preferred.

• Ideal candidates will be proficient communicators with a variety of stakeholders, including borrowers, colleagues, peers, investment committee members, and potential investors.

• Proficient knowledge of English is mandatory; knowledge of additional languages spoken in Asia is advantageous.

• Willingness and capability to travel for origination, due diligence, and team meetings up to approximately 20% of the time.

• Ability to work autonomously, proactively, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree, preferably in business, economics, or finance, is optional.
