This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of the finance function's architecture. Enhance the function by overseeing the transition from QuickBooks to the selected ERP, while refining multi-entity consolidation, closing processes, and internal controls.
• Foster audit preparedness. Ensure the financials meet full GAAP standards, document controls, implement robust revenue recognition practices, and prepare the company to confidently undergo an external audit.
• Establish an operational rhythm that informs decision-making. Introduce discipline and structure to forecasting, budgeting, and headcount planning to guide business investment. Develop a KPI dashboard that the leadership team and board can effectively utilize.
• Lead and unify the finance team. Bring together SE Ranking's six-person finance function across Europe into a cohesive unit, mentoring and developing the existing personnel while elevating standards as the company expands.
• Act as a strategic advisor to the CEO and COO regarding capital allocation. Convert financial precision into improved operational choices—enhancing GTM efficiency, margin growth, and headcount management.
• Oversee critical external relationships. Manage partnerships with banks, CPA firms, auditors, and essential finance vendors suitable for a scaling, internationally distributed SaaS organization.
• Craft the financial narrative. Develop board-level reports and financial stories that illustrate the company’s trajectory and position the finance function to facilitate future growth.
• Proven hands-on SaaS finance leadership experience at a company with $20M–$75M ARR — you have either constructed or significantly improved a finance function rather than merely managing an already established one.
• Strong foundation in controllership — expertise in GAAP compliance, revenue recognition, multi-entity consolidation, and direct experience preparing for or managing external audits. You understand the practical implications of being audit-ready.
• Experience with ERP migration — you have led or played a pivotal role in a systems upgrade as part of building finance infrastructure. You are familiar with what it takes to evolve from growth to audit-grade maturity.
• Familiarity with multi-currency and international finance — managing financials across different countries, entities, and currencies is second nature to you. You are adept with international tax, transfer pricing, and compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
• Strong grasp of SaaS unit economics — including metrics such as NDR, GRR, LTV/CAC, CAC payback, EBITDA margin, and Rule of X. You possess analytical rigor and a commercial perspective, understanding the business beyond mere numbers.
• A player-coach approach — you nurture and lead your team while remaining actively engaged in the work. You thrive on building without the need for a large team or extensive support structures.
• A modern, tech-savvy mindset — you embrace AI and automation to maximize efficiency. You are comfortable in an async-first, globally distributed setting where Slack and clear written communication are the norm.
• 22 days of paid time off, in addition to your local national holidays.
• Flexible working hours and a culture that empowers you to manage your own time.
• Private medical insurance or a medical allowance, depending on your location.
• Extended paid sick leave to ensure you can recover fully without concerns.
• Investment in AI. We invest significantly in AI to provide opportunities for you to develop skills that are essential for the next decade of your career, not just this role.
• A quarterly learning budget for courses, books, or any resources that promote your professional growth.
• A quarterly wellbeing budget for activities such as sports, therapy, or even indulging in a great novel.
• A quarterly co-working budget to enable you to work from locations that inspire you.
• Top-notch hardware for your tasks (team Apple).
• A transparent and flexible culture with a focus on people at the heart of everything we do.
