This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and implement the logistics and warehousing strategy for the Americas in alignment with MISUMI’s global supply chain vision.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performance team of logistics managers, warehouse supervisors, and operations analysts.
• Act as the senior logistics representative in executive planning, budgeting, and collaborative initiatives.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and accountability across all distribution center locations.
• Advocate for the integration of AI and emerging technologies as fundamental components of the logistics strategy, instilling a data-driven, continuous improvement approach throughout the logistics and warehousing organization.
• Manage daily operations at all MISUMI Americas distribution centers, covering inbound receiving, inventory management, picking, packing, shipping, and returns processing.
• Propel KPI performance metrics, including inventory turnover, warehousing contribution profit, order accuracy, on-time fulfillment, dock-to-stock cycle time, and warehouse productivity.
• Lead facility rationalization, relocation, expansion, and new distribution center projects as business requirements evolve.
• Oversee contract negotiations for facilities as necessary.
• Continuously enhance the existing WMS and automation technologies to boost throughput, accuracy, and scalability.
• Ensure that Business Continuity Plans for MISUMI Americas’ warehousing operations are established and prepared for execution as required.
• Identify and test AI-powered tools for demand forecasting, slotting optimization, labor planning, and inventory positioning to enhance distribution center efficiency and reduce operational variability.
• Negotiate and maintain relationships with parcel, LTL, FTL, and international freight carriers.
• Design and optimize transportation lanes to reduce cost-per-shipment while upholding service SLAs.
• Oversee last-mile delivery strategy and enhance the customer delivery experience.
• Manage freight auditing, compliance, and claims processes.
• Utilize AI-driven route optimization and carrier performance analytics to lower freight costs, improve delivery reliability, and enhance the end-customer experience.
• Manage all import operations for products sourced from MISUMI’s globally distributed supply regions.
• Ensure adherence to U.S. Customs and Border Protection regulations, import/export controls, and relevant trade agreements.
• Proactively manage catalog HTS classifications.
• Submit and secure eRulings as necessary to mitigate risk and reduce costs.
• Maintain relationships with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and trade compliance advisors.
• Monitor and respond to changes in tariff classifications, duty rates, and trade policies that impact landed cost and supply continuity.
• Keep accurate import documentation, HTS classifications, and country-of-origin records for all inbound product flows.
• Act as a logistics subject matter expert and strategic partner to MISUMI’s global supply regions, enhancing outbound logistics capabilities.
• Identify deficiencies in outbound logistics performance across supply regions and create targeted improvement plans in collaboration with regional teams.
• Share best practices, frameworks, and tools from the Americas with counterparts in global supply regions to promote consistency and efficiency across the broader MISUMI network.
• Regularly engage with regional logistics leaders to evaluate performance, prioritize support, and monitor progress toward shared objectives.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Global Supply Chain, Procurement, and Regional Operations leadership to ensure comprehensive supply chain continuity.
• Manage the Americas logistics P&L, overseeing budgets exceeding $10M+ annually with a focus on cost efficiency.
• Create robust reporting frameworks and dashboards to provide operational insights to senior leadership.
• Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives through network optimization, labor efficiency, and vendor consolidation.
• Introduce AI-enabled visibility and analytics tools to global supply region teams as applicable, accelerating logistics maturity and performance enhancement across the MISUMI network.
• Over 15 years of progressive experience in supply chain, logistics, or warehousing leadership.
• A minimum of 5 years in a VP-level or equivalent senior executive position.
• Proven success in managing multi-site distribution center networks at scale.
• Expertise in WMS, TMS, and ERP systems.
• Experience in B2B industrial, manufacturing, or e-commerce fulfillment environments.
• Strong financial acumen with experience in P&L management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large, diverse teams across various locations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• Willingness to travel frequently to MISUMI Americas’ QCTs throughout the United States and Mexico.
