VP, Infrastructure Engineering

📋 Description

• Establish and implement the long-term vision for Infrastructure Engineering.

• Guide and cultivate a high-performing engineering team, focusing on leadership depth and succession planning.

• Propel the advancement of cloud infrastructure, platform as a service, data infrastructure, observability, and reliability engineering.

• Transform Infrastructure Engineering to align with an AI-driven future.

• Expedite global infrastructure growth while maintaining reliability, security, scalability, and operational excellence.

• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Security, and executive leadership regarding infrastructure investments and product priorities.

• Advocate for SRE practices, operational excellence, and ongoing improvements to platform reliability and developer experience.

• Promote the adoption of scalable platform capabilities that enhance engineering speed and diminish operational complexity.

• Encourage technical excellence, innovation, inclusivity, and a customer-centric approach.

• Develop strategic partnerships with hyperscale cloud providers and other technology collaborators.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive executive engineering leadership experience managing large, multi-layer engineering organizations.

• Proven track record in building and scaling Infrastructure Engineering, Platform Engineering, Developer Platforms, or Cloud Platform organizations in contemporary cloud-native SaaS enterprises.

• Experience in operating highly available, globally distributed systems that cater to millions of users or customers at internet scale.

• Profound knowledge of cloud-native architecture, distributed systems, developer platforms, reliability engineering, observability, infrastructure automation, and modern software delivery.

• Capability to outline long-term technical strategy while achieving measurable business results.

• Experience collaborating with executive leadership on organizational strategy and technology investment decisions.

• History of developing engineering leaders, fostering inclusive organizations, and building high-performing teams.

• Exceptional executive communication, organizational leadership, and cross-functional influencing abilities.

• Strong interest in utilizing AI across engineering, infrastructure, operations, and the software lifecycle.

• Nice-to-have: familiarity with modern database technologies, large-scale data platforms, internal developer platforms, partnerships with AWS/Google Cloud/Microsoft Azure, cloud cost optimization, and participation in the engineering community.

• Annual cash compensation range of $401,895–$643,005 USD.

• Eligible positions may receive on-target commission and annual bonus opportunities.
