This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +4 more states.
• Oversee all global in vitro scientific operations across Crown’s locations.
• Ensure the consistent and high-quality execution of in vitro studies, upholding robust scientific rigor, reproducibility, and translational relevance.
• Enhance operational efficiencies through standardized workflows, SOP alignment, and ongoing improvement initiatives.
• Manage comprehensive operational workflows, encompassing study design support, resource planning, execution, quality control, reporting, and timely delivery.
• Propel improvements in productivity, reproducibility, cycle times, and alignment across sites.
• Establish and monitor operational KPIs such as quality, timeliness, resource utilization, and client satisfaction.
• Identify opportunities for expanding and modernizing in vitro capabilities.
• Lead the adoption of new technologies, automation, and translational assays that support mechanisms of action, pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics linkage, and IND-enabling studies.
• Collaborate with leaders in biomarker, in vivo, and translational science to ensure platform integration.
• Serve as a senior scientific representative in key client meetings, aiding in proposal development, study design, troubleshooting, and data interpretation.
• Support business development strategies with compelling scientific narratives, insights for customer retention, and the expansion of strategic partnerships.
• Guide teams in converting client program objectives into actionable in vitro study plans.
• Ensure alignment among scientific operations, project management, quality, and commercial teams.
• Facilitate cross-site initiatives, including platform harmonization and global capability mapping.
• Foster a high-performance culture that prioritizes scientific rigor, innovation, accountability, and client focus.
• Provide strategic mentorship, succession planning, and competency development across assay platforms.
• Oversee global in vitro budgets, headcount planning, capital equipment strategy, and site capacity allocations.
• Assist in revenue planning, operational forecasting, and margin optimization.
• Collaborate with finance and senior leadership to enhance operational efficiency and scalability.
• Ph.D. in cancer biology, immunology, pharmacology, molecular/cell biology, or a related field.
• Over 10 years of experience in oncology/immunology preclinical research with extensive knowledge of in vitro assay platforms.
• More than 7 years of leadership experience managing scientific teams, preferably across multiple global locations.
• Proven track record in CRO scientific operations, with a solid understanding of client expectations and data delivery requirements.
• Significant experience in designing, executing, and interpreting mechanistic in vitro assays, immune effector studies, co-culture systems, and imaging-based platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to manage operational workflows, introduce new capabilities, and ensure high-quality scientific output.
• Strong communication skills, with experience in client-facing scientific roles.
