This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the development and implementation of Baylor Genetics’ enterprise data and AI strategy.
• Create a scalable data platform that facilitates advanced analytics and promotes AI integration throughout the organization.
• Form and lead a high-performing team while collaborating with Technology, Genomic Sciences, Operations, and Commercial divisions.
• Define and execute the architecture for the enterprise data platform (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, Azure ecosystem).
• Create a unified source of truth for clinical, operational, and financial data.
• Design frameworks for scalable data ingestion, processing, and storage.
• Ensure compatibility across various systems, including LIMS, reporting platforms, and enterprise applications.
• Formulate and implement the company-wide AI strategy.
• Identify and rank high-value AI use cases (clinical, operational, customer-facing).
• Lead the development and implementation of AI/ML models and GenAI solutions.
• Establish governance protocols for responsible AI (compliance, explainability, PHI protection).
• Create an enterprise data governance framework (ownership, quality, lineage).
• Ensure adherence to HIPAA, CAP, and other regulatory standards.
• Define policies for data access, security, and retention.
• Collaborate closely with Security and Compliance teams.
• Develop enterprise analytics capabilities to enhance decision-making.
• Standardize reporting and KPI definitions across the organization.
• Facilitate self-service analytics for business stakeholders.
• Build and manage the Data & AI organization (data engineering, data science, analytics).
• Establish a clear operating model and team structure.
• Mentor and cultivate technical and functional leaders.
• Collaborate with Product Engineering and Platform teams to ensure execution alignment.
• 12+ years of experience in data, analytics, or AI leadership roles.
• Demonstrated ability to build enterprise data platforms on a large scale.
• Experience in leading AI/ML initiatives within production environments.
• Background in healthcare, life sciences, or regulated industries is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with modern data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, etc.).
• Expertise in data engineering (ETL/ELT, streaming, pipelines).
• Knowledge of machine learning and AI frameworks.
• Experience with data governance and security in regulated environments.
• Proven track record of building and scaling high-performing teams.
