This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +2 more states.
• Develops and delivers an approved syllabus for students at DeVry University, adhering to a format set by the local campus and encompassing the terminal course objectives.
• Systematically organizes, prepares, and routinely updates all course materials.
• Utilizes suitable technological resources for online platforms and course-related software, including websites, email, and online discussions to prepare and make the course accessible to students.
• Exemplifies effective oral and written communication skills that engage students, promote clarity, and enhance learning outcomes.
• Establishes clear expectations for the course by publishing terminal objectives, assignment/examination schedules, and the distribution weights of various evaluation categories.
• Ensures that the material and content on exams align with the terminal objectives of the course.
• Displays consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, providing timely feedback to students.
• Embraces and integrates the responsible use of AI technologies in the classroom to improve teaching and learning results.
• Exhibits the ability to recognize, evaluate, and manage appropriate and inappropriate student use of AI tools in academic work.
• Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.
• A doctorate in Cloud Computing, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a closely related field is required, including at least 18 graduate credit hours in cloud computing, distributed systems, networking, cybersecurity, or a related computing discipline.
• Applicants must submit unofficial graduate-level transcripts with their application.
• Degrees must be conferred by an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, or by an international institution deemed to hold equivalent accreditation.
• A minimum of three to five years of relevant professional experience in cloud computing, distributed infrastructure, virtualization, or cloud-native technologies is necessary.
• Proven experience with cloud architecture and cloud-enabled software development, including infrastructure provisioning, containerization, and application deployment within cloud platforms.
• Possession of industry-recognized certifications or professional credentials related to cloud computing, cloud architecture, infrastructure engineering, or DevOps practices.
• Strong subject matter expertise in cloud technologies, coupled with excellent communication skills and the capability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse learners.
• Comprehensive knowledge of secure and responsible cloud operations, encompassing identity and access management, data protection, regulatory considerations, and cloud security best practices.
• Faculty must demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development in instructional technology, digital literacy, and responsible AI practices.
• Additional requirements may be imposed by state licensing, institutional policy, or accreditation standards.
• Industry certifications in cloud platforms or cloud architecture (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or similar recognized credentials) are required.
• Experience with cloud-native development methodologies, including containerization, microservices architecture, serverless computing, and orchestration technologies.
• Familiarity with implementing DevSecOps frameworks, including continuous integration, continuous delivery pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automated security practices.
• Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud environments, addressing workload migration, cloud cost management, and cloud governance.
• Knowledge of programmatic or regional accreditation processes, including outcomes assessment, curriculum mapping, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Active involvement in professional technology or cloud-related organizations to stay informed of current industry trends.
• Experience incorporating cloud-based laboratories, virtualized environments, or platform-based learning settings into post-secondary education to facilitate hands-on learning.
• Two to five years of teaching experience at the post-secondary level, preferably in cloud computing, networking, systems administration, cybersecurity, or software development.
