Visiting Professor – Artificial Intelligence, Online

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Instruct courses and programs following the standards set by DeVry University.

• Enhance the learning experience for both undergraduate and graduate students.

• Create syllabi and lesson plans for courses.

• Prepare, organize, revise, and update course materials as necessary.

• Utilize online technologies and course-related software, including websites, email, and online discussions.

• Exhibit effective oral and written communication skills.

• Establish course expectations, objectives, assignment deadlines, examination dates, and evaluation criteria.

• Ensure that exams correspond with the terminal objectives of the course.

• Consistently and fairly prepare and grade exams.

• Offer timely feedback to students.

• Incorporate responsible AI technologies into teaching and learning activities.

• Identify, assess, and manage appropriate and inappropriate use of AI tools by students.

• Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Doctorate in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field is required.

• A minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, or a relevant computational discipline.

• Unofficial graduate-level transcripts must be submitted with the application.

• The degree must be conferred by an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, or possess equivalent international accreditation.

• Three to five years of hands-on professional experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, intelligent systems, or related computational technologies.

• Proven experience in AI-enabled software development, potentially including machine learning pipelines, generative AI tools, data modeling, or full-stack application development that integrates AI services.

• Industry-recognized certifications or professional credentials pertinent to artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, or software development.

• Strong expertise in AI concepts and technologies.

• Effective communication abilities, with a capacity to explain complex technical subjects to a diverse audience.

• Familiarity with ethical, responsible, and secure AI practices, including data governance, bias reduction, and responsible AI deployment.

• A commitment to continuous professional development in instructional technology, digital literacy, and responsible AI practices.

• Additional requirements may be influenced by state licensing, institutional policies, or accreditation standards.

• Preferred: industry certifications in Python programming, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or data science.

• Preferred: certifications as an AI practitioner or engineer.

• Preferred: experience with AI development frameworks and tools.

• Preferred: familiarity with applying DevSecOps practices in AI or data-driven settings.

• Preferred: experience with accreditation processes, outcomes assessment, and curriculum alignment.

• Preferred: active involvement or membership in professional technology or AI-focused organizations.

• Preferred: experience in integrating AI-assisted learning tools, immersive technologies, or intelligent tutoring systems into post-secondary education.

• Preferred: two to five years of teaching experience in a post-secondary setting.
