Virtual School Counselor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Provide proactive guidance curriculum to both individuals and groups.

• Address the needs of individuals and groups through responsive counseling and programming.

• Assess transfer student transcripts to determine suitable course placements.

• Oversee and evaluate transcripts for current students and communicate credit award procedures.

• Develop and sustain student graduation plans.

• Offer career readiness curriculum and assist in the creation of career plans.

• Implement Social-Emotional Learning curriculum.

• Formulate and uphold Student 504 plans.

• Examine student data to contribute to the development of appropriate academic programs and interventions.

• Travel as necessary to support testing initiatives and school events within the state.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bilingual candidates are strongly preferred.

• A valid State Counselor license is required.

• A Bachelor’s degree along with one (1) year of prior experience in counseling and/or advisement, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Familiarity with the ASCA model is necessary.

• Experience in K-12 online learning environments is essential.

• Knowledge of Local, State, and Federal laws and mandated reporting is required.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite products is necessary.

• Capability to manage confidential information with responsibility and sound judgment.

• Ability to navigate difficult or emotional situations and make evidence-based decisions.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are essential.

• Capacity to perform well under pressure, effectively prioritize, and execute tasks to consistently meet deadlines.

• A customer service-oriented mindset is required.

• Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment.

• Must be able to pass federal and state criminal background checks.
