Virtual School Counselor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho.

📋 Description

• Provide proactive guidance curriculum to individuals and groups.

• Address individual and group needs through responsive counseling and programming.

• Evaluate transfer student transcripts and communicate suitable course placements.

• Maintain and assess transcripts for current students while informing credit award processes.

• Develop and uphold student graduation plans.

• Deliver career readiness curriculum and assist in the development of career plans.

• Implement Social-Emotional Learning curriculum.

• Create and manage Student 504 plans.

• Analyze student data to offer insights on suitable academic programs and interventions.

• Travel as necessary to support testing initiatives and school events within the state.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Valid Idaho Counselor license.

• Bachelor’s degree along with one (1) year of prior experience in counseling and/or advisement, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.

• Familiarity with the ASCA model.

• Experience in K-12 online learning environments.

• Knowledge of Local, State, and Federal laws and mandated reporting protocols.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications.

• Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and demonstrate sound judgment in maintaining that confidentiality.

• Capacity to handle challenging or emotional situations and make evidence-based decisions.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Competence in working under pressure, effectively prioritizing and executing tasks to consistently meet deadlines.

• Customer service oriented.

• Ability to work autonomously while also contributing to a team environment.

• Must be able to pass federal and state criminal background checks.
