This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Serve as a strategic risk advisor, collaborating with clients to proactively recognize emerging risks and develop practical, value-added mitigation strategies.
• Exhibit customer focus and empathy by customizing recommendations to align with each client’s industry, risk profile, and business priorities.
• Perform risk assessments and consultations across relevant insurance lines utilizing virtual/digital delivery methods.
• Create and implement data-driven service plans that address loss drivers, operational risks, and client business objectives.
• Convert complex technical findings into clear and engaging insights through storytelling with data for clients, agents, and underwriting partners.
• Utilize digital tools, analytics, and emerging technologies (such as dashboards, virtual tools, and AI-enabled insights) to improve service quality, efficiency, and customer experience.
• Work collaboratively across functions with underwriting, claims, sales, data, and technical specialists to provide integrated risk solutions.
• Identify opportunities to broaden Risk Services offerings and support profitable growth.
• Commit to continuous learning to remain informed on industry trends, emerging risks, and evolving technologies.
• Mentor, coach, and assist less experienced engineers as appropriate according to role level.
• Over 3 years of progressive experience in risk engineering, safety, loss control, or related consulting roles.
• A Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) is strongly preferred in Safety, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Risk Management, Environmental Health, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong ability to evaluate risk, analyze loss data, identify trends, and formulate targeted mitigation strategies.
• Proficiency with digital tools, analytics, and technology-enabled platforms for delivering risk engineering services.
• A demonstrated customer-centric attitude with the capability to understand client priorities and tailor solutions accordingly.
• Proven capacity to provide proactive consultation, including anticipating client needs and influencing the adoption of recommendations.
• Excellent storytelling skills with data — converting technical findings into relevant business insights.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills, including the preparation of technical reports and delivery of client-facing presentations.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with underwriting, claims, sales, agents, brokers, and technical partners.
• Digital fluency, with a willingness to learn and adopt new tools, platforms, and AI-enabled capabilities.
• A strong commitment to continuous learning, with curiosity and initiative to enhance technical expertise, strengthen consultative abilities, and adopt new digital and AI-enabled tools to improve customer impact.
• Extensive knowledge of NFPA Standards, FM Global Data Sheets, and other industry standards is preferred.
• Professional safety or risk management certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH, ARM, CPCU, CHST) are preferred or required based on the role and level.
