This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Establish API design guidelines and assess APIs for uniformity, usability, version control, deprecation, and backward compatibility.
• Create, update, and oversee OpenAPI Specification agreements along with API configuration and validation protocols.
• Develop and manage Kubernetes resources, such as Deployments, Services, Ingress/Gateway API objects, ConfigMaps, Secrets, and NetworkPolicies.
• Execute CI/CD and GitOps methodologies, automate configuration and specification validation, manage environment promotions, rollbacks, API metering, and usage analytics.
• Apply authentication and authorization frameworks, including JWT issuance and validation, claims mapping, token alteration, key rotation, AD/LDAP integration, certificates, TLS/mTLS, DNS, and network security.
• Monitor and resolve platform environment issues using logs, metrics, traces, dashboards, and operational reporting.
• Tackle Linux, container runtime, networking, and performance challenges.
• Contribute to team goals and project success through additional tasks and responsibilities as necessary.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Practical experience with API management and API security, including AWS API Gateway, JSON-based APIs, API contracts, authentication, authorization, and accounting.
• Familiarity with Active Directory (AD), LDAP directory modeling, JWT-based authentication, claims, tokens, and access-control frameworks.
• Experience in supporting Kubernetes environments, API gateways, Linux systems, containerized applications, networking, certificates, and SSL/TLS.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities for intricate API, platform, security, networking, and performance challenges.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills within technical teams.
• Knowledge of AWS workloads, GitOps tools like Argo CD or Flux, and gateway or service-mesh technologies such as NGINX, Envoy, or Istio.
• Experience with observability and monitoring solutions such as Datadog, Splunk, Prometheus/Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, or OpenTelemetry.
• Understanding of OWASP practices, TLS/mTLS, secrets management, API security, and audit logging.
• Background in mentoring teams or establishing platform engineering standards.
• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
• All selected candidates must successfully undergo a background check.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Government/Public Trust clearance, including necessary fingerprinting, if required.
