This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Providing cross-coverage for patients admitted under inpatient status.
• Evaluating the health status of assigned patients through thorough medical history and chart reviews.
• Analyzing patient data and developing an individualized care plan based on assessment and needs in collaboration with physicians, nursing staff, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
• Assessing and monitoring the effectiveness of the prescribed management plan.
• Establishing priorities based on patient needs and taking appropriate actions.
• Ordering, interpreting, and/or conducting necessary diagnostic tests or laboratory work.
• Initiating referrals to the appropriate resources and services.
• Facilitating efficient patient flow through the system or discharge processes.
• Completing timely and accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR), including progress notes and orders.
• Submitting billing in a timely manner in accordance with policy.
• Applying teaching and learning principles along with expert clinical knowledge to provide education and counseling to patients and/or families, including the teach-back method.
• Serving as a liaison for patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
• Contributing to the development and maintenance of best practice guidelines, protocols, quality and performance improvement initiatives, algorithms, and research projects.
• Delivering excellent customer service and aiding in efforts to enhance patient satisfaction scores.
• Continuously learning and applying new information, skills, and knowledge.
• Maintaining privileges, mandatory education, and regulatory requirements as necessary for the area of specialization.
• Licensed or eligible for Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant licensure in the states of Delaware and Maryland.
• Acute Care Nurse Practitioner license is required.
• Prescriptive Authority or eligibility for the states of Delaware and Maryland.
• DEA registration is required for both Delaware and Maryland.
• ACLS certification is required.
• A minimum of 3 years of inpatient experience is required, with hospitalist experience preferred; however, other specialty experience may be considered.
