
Virtual Medical Science Liaison – Cardiometabolic Health

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Engage in scientific dialogues with general practitioners and internists.
• Build and sustain scientifically robust connections with office-based general practitioners and internists in both primary and specialty care, primarily through digital channels.
• Deliver practical, evidence-driven insights on cardiometabolic conditions (such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular risk reduction) tailored to the realities of primary care practice.
• Address medical-scientific questions from GPs and internists regarding mechanisms of action, clinical study results, and treatment alternatives.
• Provide education and guidance on guidelines, treatment algorithms, and the latest scientific advancements in cardiometabolic primary care.
• Attend congresses and symposia.
• Plan, conduct, and follow up on virtual scientific activities for GPs, including individual video consultations, online training sessions, and virtual roundtable discussions.
• Develop and utilize digital presentation materials and interactive media suited to the needs of the target audience.
• Continuously enhance personal digital communication skills and actively contribute to optimizing virtual engagement models.
• Systematically capture and report practice insights from the GP segment, particularly concerning treatment barriers, care gaps, unmet medical needs, and patient perspectives.
• Analyze treatment patterns in primary care and relay pertinent insights to internal teams.
• Contribute to the formulation of medical strategies specifically aimed at the GP segment.
• Collaborate closely and cross-functionally with Medical colleagues in both field and office settings (field MSLs) as well as Commercial teams.
• Actively participate in national and international vMSL meetings and in the ongoing enhancement of Lilly’s virtual MSL model.
• A degree in a scientific, medical, or pharmaceutical discipline (doctorate/MD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent preferred).
• Strong knowledge of cardiometabolic conditions relevant to general practice, including obesity, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and cardiovascular prevention.
• Proficient in German and possess good English language skills, both written and verbal.
• Professional experience in an MSL role or a similar medical-scientific position within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Experience with virtual or digital engagement models and remote communication with physicians is advantageous; enthusiasm for digital working methods is essential.
• Familiarity with the German primary care landscape, including its structures, networks, and guidelines from primary care professional societies, is desirable.
• Experience with CRM systems and digital communication tools (such as Veeva, MS Teams, Zoom) is a plus.
